Thirty-three prefectural police departments establish tsunami evacuation rules for officers

Thirty-three prefectural police departments have established tsunami evacuation rules for officers. These rules aim to ensure officers can evacuate safely during tsunamis, setting guidelines for evacuation times based on predicted tsunami heights. This initiative follows past incidents where officers were caught in tsunamis. The National Police Agency is promoting these rules nationwide, with 33 prefectures having already implemented them. The remaining six are expected to follow suit.
