Thea Awards honor Universal's Spider-Man ride and Disney attractions for excellence in themed entertainment

The Thea Awards were presented by the Themed Entertainment Association, recognizing achievements in themed entertainment. Universal's Spider-Man ride received the Thea Classic Award, while Disney's BDX Droids and two new lands were honored for innovation and design. Shanghai Disney's Zootopia area and Tokyo DisneySea's Fantasy Springs were acknowledged for outstanding theme park lands. Fantasy Springs features attractions based on popular films like "Frozen" and "Tangled." Rick Rothschild, a former Disney Imagineer, received the Buzz Price Thea Award for his lifetime achievements. Other awards recognized various attractions, immersive experiences, and museums worldwide, with a gala planned for March in California.
