The Hague Court of Appeal rules former ING CEO Ralph Hamers will not face prosecution

rtl.nl (Dutch)

The Hague Court of Appeal ruled that former ING CEO Ralph Hamers will not be prosecuted for his involvement in a money laundering scandal. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) lacks sufficient evidence to pursue criminal charges against Hamers, who led ING from 2013 to 2020, despite a previous court order to prosecute. ING previously settled with the OM for €775 million in 2018 over its inadequate anti-money laundering measures between 2010 and 2016.
