The grandfather clock's menacing presence

A grandfather clock purchased by a father caused unease and strange occurrences for his family. The clock, described as tall and imposing, seemed to pause its pendulum and its chime unexpectedly reached thirteen. It also appeared to smile menacingly. The family's cat and a bird disappeared into the clock, and their dog was nearly sucked in before being rescued. The clock then vocally refused to leave.
