Texas files lawsuit against El Paso doctor for allegedly prescribing gender-transition drugs to minors
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against El Paso pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Hector Granados. The lawsuit claims Granados provided puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to minors, violating state law. The lawsuit alleges Granados treated 21 anonymous patients, prescribing these medications as recently as October 2024. Paxton's office argues that these actions harm the health and safety of Texas children. Paxton seeks both temporary and permanent injunctions to stop Granados from prescribing these treatments, along with civil penalties of up to $10,000 for each violation. This is the second similar lawsuit filed by Paxton this month.
