The Houston Texans have ruled out running back Dameon Pierce for Thursday's game against the New York Jets due to a groin injury. JJ Taylor has been elevated to the active roster to fill the gap. In addition to Pierce, the Texans will also be without pass rusher Azeez Al-Shaair, safety Jimmie Ward, and offensive lineman Jarrett Patterson for the game. Pierce has struggled with injuries this season, playing only four games and recording 14 carries for 98 yards and one touchdown. He had a strong rookie season in 2022, rushing for 939 yards and four touchdowns.
