Tesla powertrain transforms Cobra kit car into lightweight electric speedster
A new electric vehicle has been created by fitting the powertrain from a Tesla Model S Plaid into a Cobra kit car. This conversion results in a lightweight vehicle that weighs about 3,300 lbs, significantly lighter than the original Model S Plaid. The Cobra now features a 100 kWh battery and three electric motors, producing 1,060 horsepower. This is the first known instance of a Plaid powertrain being used in such a conversion, marking a notable development in electric vehicle modifications. The chassis was extended to accommodate the new powertrain, and initial tests have shown impressive performance. This project represents a significant step in the evolution of electric vehicle customization.
