Tesco to open in Cornwall's first new high street in over a century

A new Tesco superstore will be part of Cornwall's first high street in over a century, under construction near Newquay. The 24,000 sq ft store will support 4,000 new homes and create around 100 jobs. The development, called Nansledan, will include 40 shops, cafes, and a Market Hall showcasing local food vendors. Construction of the supermarket will start this year, with the first buildings expected to be ready by 2026. Nansledan aims to become a year-round shopping destination. The project began in 2014 and is expected to be completed by 2045.
