Tennessee woman injured while swimming with dolphins in Jamaica

A woman from Tennessee, Cierra Stockard, was injured during a spring break trip to Jamaica while swimming with dolphins. She accidentally fell on a dolphin's dorsal fin, resulting in a large hematoma on her body. Cierra is currently in a hospital in Montego Bay and has undergone emergency surgery. After the incident on March 17, Stockard's family is working to raise funds to bring her back home. Her sister, Nevaeh Garton, explained that Cierra suffered "blunt force trauma" and described the pain as feeling like a car accident. Stockard is also dealing with sickle cell disease, which adds to her medical needs during recovery. Her family has said they need her back in the U.S. as Stockard misses her children and other loved ones. They have created a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of her medical transport, as her insurance does not cover international emergencies. They are aiming to raise $55,000 for this purpose. So far, they have raised over $10,000. Despite her difficult situation, Stockard remains optimistic. In a message, she thanked her supporters and expressed hope for a quick return home. She said, "I hope this is one step closer to getting my butt back to Tennessee."
