Telangana teachers to protest from Aug 7 over transfers, pensions, vacancies

The Teachers' Unions' Struggle Committee (TUSPC) announced a phased statewide protest in Telangana starting August 7, citing government neglect of teacher and education sector issues. The agitation includes a planned 'Chalo Assembly' protest if demands are unmet. The committee demands completion of transfers and promotions by August 15, amendments to GO 25, and at least two teachers per primary school. Other demands include filling vacant supervisory posts, scrapping the Contributory Pension Scheme for the Old Pension Scheme, and clearing pending bills at ₹2,000 crore monthly. Protests escalate from school-level black badge demonstrations on August 7 to a mega dharna at Indira Park on August 29. If unresolved, the committee will protest during the September assembly session.
