Telangana forms committees to enhance food safety in state-run schools
The Telangana government has formed committees to improve food safety in state-run schools following recent food poisoning incidents. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has ordered regular inspections by district Collectors to ensure hygienic food is provided to students. A three-member Task Force Committee will investigate food safety issues across various institutions, including schools and hospitals. Additionally, institution-level food safety committees will oversee food preparation and quality, requiring staff to inspect kitchens and taste meals before serving. The Telangana High Court has requested a report from the government by December 2 regarding the food safety incidents. Meanwhile, political leaders are debating the government's handling of the situation and past incidents.
