Telangana court denies Gali's asset release plea

The Telangana high court has denied a plea from Gali Janardhan Reddy and his family to release 53 kilograms of gold and Rs 5 crore in bonds seized during a criminal investigation into illegal mining. The court stated that the assets cannot be returned until the trial concludes. The Enforcement Directorate and income tax department are also seeking custody of these assets, claiming they are linked to illegal activities. Janardhan Reddy argued the gold was needed for his daughter's marriage, but the judge ruled that the trial court must first determine guilt before considering asset release. The ED has already seized assets worth Rs 885 crore in this case.
