Telangana CM directs study on underground power cables to improve Greater Hyderabad's electricity supply

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to explore the installation of underground power cables in Greater Hyderabad. This initiative aims to reduce power losses and address issues like theft and outages from natural disasters. The Chief Minister requested a study on similar projects in other countries and a report on various cable types. He emphasized the need for a solid plan to prevent power cuts during the upcoming summer, as peak demand is expected to rise. Additionally, Reddy proposed providing free solar power and pumps to homes in tribal areas. He called for a meeting with relevant departments to prepare a comprehensive report on this initiative.
