Teen charged over near-severing of boy's hand in Sydney's Redfern
A 15-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old with a knife in Sydney, causing a near-complete amputation of the victim's hand. The incident occurred Wednesday night in Redfern, and the suspect will face a children's court Thursday. Police responded to a call in Redfern around 6 p.m. and found the 17-year-old with a partially severed hand. The alleged assault took place in a car park on Morehead Road, and paramedics transported the victim to hospital with injuries to his right arm. The 15-year-old was arrested Thursday morning after police stopped a car on Redfern Street. He faces charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and breach of bail, and was refused bail ahead of his court appearance.
