Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna unveils 2024-25 season with Swan Lake opener

ilrestodelcarlino.it (Italian) —

The Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna has announced its new opera and dance season, opening December 4 with the Tbilisi Opera Ballet performing "Swan Lake." The season features nine events curated by new artistic director Emanuele Masi. The program includes Donizetti's "Le convenienze e inconvenienze teatrali" on December 16, an opera-pop tribute to Lucio Dalla on December 22-23, and "Pagliacci" in January with director Gabriele Lavia. The season continues with Britten's "Death in Venice" in February and Rossini's "La Cenerentola" in April, alongside three dance performances from Ballet Junior de Genève, Aterballetto, and collective Dewey Dell. Masi described the season as a "game of mirrors" exploring identity and representation, themes he says are central to modern life and social media. Superintendent Antonio De Rosa expressed confidence in Masi's ability to blend tradition with new artistic languages.
