Team plans to retrieve world's oldest satellite

The world's oldest satellite, Vanguard-1, launched in 1958, may be brought back to Earth after 67 years in orbit. A team is proposing a mission to retrieve the aging satellite. The team suggests either capturing Vanguard-1 in a lower orbit or bringing it to the International Space Station. This follows the successful retrieval of other satellites, but Vanguard-1's age presents unique challenges. Before any capture attempt, an inspection spacecraft is proposed to assess Vanguard-1's condition, checking for damage from space debris and structural integrity.
