Tauranga Moana haka group showcases Aotearoa culture in Samoa

A haka group from Tauranga Moana, Te Paringa Tai ki Matakana me Rangiwaea, recently represented Aotearoa in Samoa. This was the first international trip for most members of the group. During their four-day visit, they performed at six schools and engaged with students, teaching them haka and poi. In return, the children shared traditional Samoan dance, Siva. The group's leader, Julian Rolleston, highlighted the connections made with the Samoan people. He noted the hospitality received and described the experience as a valuable opportunity to appreciate Māori culture.
