Tanzania and Germany Strengthen Biodiversity Conservation in Serengeti, Katavi, Mahale, Selous

Tanzania and Germany have agreed to strengthen cooperation in biodiversity conservation, focusing on key ecosystems including Serengeti, Katavi, Mahale, and Selous-Nyerere. The commitment was made during the 13th Steering Committee meeting in Dar es Salaam, co-chaired by Tanzania's Permanent Secretary Dr. Hassan Abbasi and German Embassy Head of Cooperation Julia Kronberg. The committee reviewed project reports funded by Germany's KfW development bank, discussing progress, challenges, and priorities. The partnership aims to safeguard Tanzania's biodiversity and ensure sustainable management of natural resources for future generations, building on existing German-funded conservation projects in the country.
