Tamil Nadu police launch hackathon to tackle cyber crime challenges

A two-day hackathon organized by the Cyber Crime Wing of Tamil Nadu Police started on Tuesday at the Police Headquarters. It encourages students and firms to use coding skills to solve policing issues. The event features five problem statements, including dark web surveillance and social media scam analysis. A total of 315 abstracts were submitted, with 54 teams advancing to the second round after screening by jury members. Fifteen teams will be selected based on their solutions' alignment with police needs and technical innovation. The top three teams will receive trophies and cash prizes, while the remaining 12 will get consolation prizes.
