Taiwan tests new HIMARS, can strike China

reuters.com

Taiwan conducted its first test firing of the U.S.-supplied HIMARS rocket system today, a weapon capable of striking targets in China. The HIMARS system, purchased from the U.S., has a range of approximately 300 km and could reach coastal areas of China's Fujian province. The test was conducted at the Jiupeng test center with U.S. manufacturer support. This test follows increased military pressure from China and a recent "joint combat readiness patrol" near Taiwan. The HIMARS system is also used by Ukraine.
