Taiwan tests HIMARS, threatening China's coast

Taiwan conducted its first live-fire test of the HIMARS rocket system, a move that could target coastal areas of China and signals a commitment to self-defense. The test involved the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), acquired from the United States, with a range of approximately 300 kilometers. The system, also used by Ukraine, allows Taiwan to target China's Fujian province. This test comes amid increased Chinese military activity near Taiwan, which views itself as independent. The U.S., Taiwan's primary defense supplier, has also provided HIMARS to Ukraine.
