Tacloban City plans new day care centers to boost early childhood education
TACLOBAN CITY — Mayor Alfred Romualdez announced plans for more day care centers in Tacloban City. Three new facilities are currently under construction in northern areas, aimed at improving access to early childhood education. The centers, located in resettlement sites, are about 80 to 90 percent complete and expected to finish by December 23. Each center has a budget of P2.96 million from the 2023 General Appropriations Act. Tacloban currently has 56 day care facilities serving 3,480 preschoolers. The new centers will enhance early education for children in resettlement communities, bringing quality learning closer to their homes.
