Switzerland faces heavy snowfall and avalanche risk in several regions

Switzerland is experiencing renewed snowfall, with some regions expecting up to 70 centimeters of new snow. The Federal Office is issuing warnings for several areas, including the Bernese Oberland, Central Switzerland, and Eastern Switzerland, due to significant snow accumulation above 800 meters. The WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research has warned of considerable avalanche danger, particularly along the northern Alpine ridge, with potential for slippery road conditions.
