Swiss researchers calculated pi to 62.8 trillion digits on August 16, 2021, setting a new world record. The calculation was performed on a supercomputer over 108 days and 9 hours, surpassing the previous record by 12.8 trillion digits. This achievement also served as a stress test for data center technology. Pi, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, is a fundamental mathematical constant.
