Swiss cities score poorly on cycling friendliness, but some excel

Swiss cities received an overall failing grade for cycling friendliness based on a survey of 38,000 cyclists. The average score was 3.9, with less than a third of cities achieving a passing grade. Burgdorf, BE, ranked highest with a 4.4, while Winterthur led larger cities with a 4.3. Cyclists cited safety and comfort as major concerns, particularly the lack of safe bike paths and insufficient car passing distance. Bike parking received the highest marks.
