Swedish researchers study increasing animal-to-human disease spread

Diseases spread from animals to humans, known as zoonoses, are generally increasing and pose a significant public health threat. While Hantavirus transmission to humans is rare, other zoonotic diseases are on the rise globally due to habitat destruction, biodiversity loss, and climate change. Researchers at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences are studying these diseases to help mitigate future outbreaks and are evaluating conservation efforts to reduce their spread.
