SUV drags scooter 15 km, injures rider in India

An SUV collided with a scooter and dragged it for 15 kilometers on Shaheed Path, injuring the rider. The incident occurred when the SUV hit the scooter from behind. Biker Manish Singh was hospitalized after being thrown off his scooter. The SUV driver, Brijesh Kumar Singh, 55, has been arrested by police. He is from Varanasi but works in Ghaziabad. The accident took place near Lulu Mall and ended near the city airport. A video of the event has gone viral on social media, showing the speeding SUV with the scooter underneath it, creating sparks as it drove along. According to police, this happened on Sunday night around 9 PM. Brijesh Kumar Singh has been charged with serious negligence. Police filed a complaint on behalf of the scooter driver under laws for rash driving and endangering safety. Officials are also investigating whether Brijesh was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Furthermore, the SUV has a history of traffic violations, with four unpaid fines.
