Surgeon battles wildfires and looters to protect Malibu community

Chester Griffiths, a brain surgeon, drove across Los Angeles to protect his Malibu home from wildfires. He, his son, and a neighbor fought the flames for four days, successfully saving six homes while others were destroyed. Despite facing extreme conditions, including 80mph winds and falling embers, the trio used hoses and dirt to keep the fire at bay. They received limited help from fire crews, forcing them to rely on their training and preparation. In addition to battling the fire, they also confronted looters attempting to steal from the area. Griffiths emphasized the importance of community support during the crisis, as many homes were lost in the devastating fires.
