Surgeon and humanitarian Dr. Jarrod Kaufman dies in New Jersey car crash
Dr. Jarrod Kaufman, a 54-year-old surgeon, died in a car crash on the Garden State Parkway after experiencing a medical episode. The incident occurred around 7:10 a.m. near Exit 88 in Lakewood. Kaufman was known for his humanitarian work, including leading global surgical missions and supporting injured soldiers after the October 7 attack on Israel. He was the chairman of surgery at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. His funeral took place on Monday, and donations in his memory can be made to various organizations supporting medical care and veterans.
