Surge in visitors boosts economic growth in Ayodhya

Ayodhya has seen a surge in economic activity since the Ram Temple opened to visitors, attracting over 3 lakh people daily. In the past year, more than 13.5 crore visitors have contributed to an estimated economic growth of Rs 3,900 crore. The number of commercial establishments has increased significantly, with around 180 registered hotels and guesthouses now operating, compared to just a few in early 2022. Thousands of property owners have also converted homes into homestays, creating additional income sources. Local businesses have benefited from eased restrictions, allowing better access for residents and traders. Real estate prices have risen sharply, and employment opportunities have expanded, with many locals finding jobs in the growing hospitality sector.
