Sundernagar Government Housing Falls into Disrepair

Government residential colonies and quarters in Sundernagar are deteriorating, with aging buildings developing cracks, peeling plaster, rusted roofs, and weak foundations, posing safety risks to employees and their families. Repairs for two major colonies have been pending for years due to a lack of funds. The Revenue Colony has 18 sets, four vacant, with plants growing on upper-floor walls. One block of Mahamaya Colony was evacuated due to a collapsing lintel. Officials have requested budgets for both colonies but approval is pending. SDM Amar Negi stated repairs will begin once funds are received. Local residents warn that without timely inspection or reconstruction, a major accident could occur.
