Study finds monkeys cannot write Shakespeare's works despite random typing theory
A new study from the University of Technology Sydney concludes that monkeys cannot write the complete works of Shakespeare. This challenges the idea that random typing by monkeys could eventually produce famous texts over time. Researchers analyzed a chimpanzee's typing potential over its lifespan and found it could only type simple words like "bananas" with a 5% chance. The odds of typing a random sentence were much lower, at one in 10 million billion billion. The study argues that the infinite monkeys theorem is misleading. Even with increased typing speed or more monkeys, the chances of producing significant written works remain extremely low.
