The blackout resulted from powerful gusts in multiple districts, causing downed trees and structural damage, including a roof collapse in Sukhumi. Emergency services are working to restore power and clear debris. Similar weather-related power outages were also reported in Batumi, Georgia, where infrastructure was damaged and airport operations were disrupted.
