Storm Herminia brings severe winds and flood alerts to UK as recovery from Storm Eowyn continues
Storm Herminia has hit the UK with thunderstorms and winds reaching 82 mph, following the severe damage caused by Storm Eowyn. Flood alerts are in place across southern England and parts of Wales, with up to 80mm of rain expected. The Environment Agency has issued 32 flood alerts, complicating recovery efforts from Storm Eowyn, which left over a million people without power. Northern Ireland and Scotland are still facing significant outages, with restoration efforts ongoing. Two fatalities have been reported due to falling trees during the storms. Rail services in Scotland remain disrupted, and power cuts have affected thousands in Devon and Cornwall as Herminia continues to bring challenging weather conditions.
