Storm Eowyn weakens as Storm Herminia brings strong winds and rain to UK

Storm Eowyn is weakening, but around 35,000 properties in Scotland remain without power. A new low-pressure system, named Storm Herminia, is approaching the UK, bringing strong winds and heavy rain, particularly to the south-west. The Met Office has issued yellow warnings for wind and heavy rain across several regions, including south-east and south-west England, Wales, and parts of Scotland. Gusts of up to 70 mph are expected, raising concerns about local flooding and travel disruptions. The unsettled weather is linked to multiple weather systems influenced by the jet stream. Meteorologists note that while Storm Herminia will bring strong winds, it is not expected to be as severe as Storm Eowyn.
