Storm Éowyn leaves 217,000 without water as 300,000 more face risk in Ireland

The number of people without water after Storm Éowyn has risen to 217,000, up from 138,000 the previous evening, according to Uisce Éireann. An additional 300,000 people are at risk of losing their water supply due to ongoing power outages. Uisce Éireann is investigating supply disruptions across many areas, including Offaly, Donegal, Kerry, and Dublin. Restoration efforts are expected to continue until at least 8 PM tonight, with some areas possibly affected into tomorrow. The national incident management team is meeting to assess the situation. The ESB has requested assistance from British and French utilities to help restore power to key water service sites.
