Stephon Castle named NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month for January

Stephon Castle, a former UConn star, has been named the NBA's Western Conference Rookie of the Month for January. He averaged 14.9 points, 3.6 assists, and 3.1 rebounds over 12 games, marking a strong start to his NBA career. Castle, the fourth overall pick in last year's draft, scored a career-high 26 points against the Grizzlies and is the only rookie this season with over 500 points, 100 rebounds, and 100 assists. He leads rookies in several categories, including points per game. Castle will participate in the NBA All-Star Weekend, featuring in the Rising Stars Challenge and the Slam Dunk contest. He was drafted by Hall of Famer Chris Mullin for the Rising Stars Challenge, joining fellow former UConn player Andre Jackson Jr.
