Stephen Harper calls for Canada to stop supporting pro-Khalistan groups
Former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper stated that Canada should stop supporting divisive groups, including pro-Khalistan elements. He made these comments during an event in Toronto on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for better screening in the immigration system. Harper has previously condemned the pro-Khalistan movement, recalling his government's refusal to engage with such groups during his tenure from 2006 to 2015. He highlighted the importance of not allowing historical conflicts to influence Canadian society. In his remarks, Harper referenced the 1985 Air India bombing, which was linked to Khalistani terrorists and remains the deadliest terrorist attack in Canadian history. He reiterated the need to address these issues to prevent the importation of longstanding conflicts into Canada.
