Stay at home warnings issued as Storm Éowyn brings severe winds to UK

Red weather warnings have been issued for parts of the UK as Storm Éowyn approaches, bringing wind gusts up to 100 mph. Millions are advised to stay home on Friday, especially in Northern Ireland and central Scotland, where schools will close. The Met Office has declared a red warning for Northern Ireland from 07:00 to 14:00 GMT, affecting morning travel. All bus and train services in Northern Ireland are suspended, and Tesco stores will be closed. Scotland's central belt, including Glasgow and Edinburgh, will face a red warning from 10:00 to 17:00. ScotRail has also suspended all services, and other train operators have warned against travel in northern England and north Wales.
