Spit Cake Workshop Brings Warmth to Villefranche-de-Rouergue Nursing Home

Residents of the EHPAD de Rulhe nursing home in Villefranche-de-Rouergue participated in a traditional "gâteau à la broche" (spit cake) making workshop, a convivial activity organized by activity leaders for the start of the season. Over two afternoons, seniors from the Jardin Fleuri, Oustal des Rosiers, and USLD units took turns pouring batter onto a wooden cone over a wood fire, sharing memories and anecdotes from their regional origins while monitoring the baking process. The sweet aroma drew everyone together for a tasting of the crispy-outside, soft-inside cake, creating a warm moment for residents and families. Another workshop is planned for next year with Laurence.
