Spider-Man: Brand New Day sets domestic record pace, Nolan's Odyssey tops his global hits

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" grossed $144.5 million in its second weekend, reaching $1.67 billion worldwide in 10 days, the fastest domestic accumulation ever. Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" added $31.5 million domestically, reaching $1.1 billion globally, his biggest hit and first since "The Dark Knight Rises." It also became IMAX's highest-grossing domestic release. The successes helped make 2026 Hollywood's best post-pandemic year, with summer ticket sales approaching $4 billion. Two new comedies, "One Night Only" and "Super Troopers 3," opened weakly.
