Spider-Man: Brand New Day Sets All-Time Hollywood Box Office Record in India
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become the highest-grossing Hollywood film of all time in India, earning $10.6M over the weekend for a cumulative $52.8M total after just 11 days of release. The film, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, surpassed the previous record held by James Cameron’s 2022 Avatar: The Way Of Water. It opened in India on July 30, a day before its global release, and has faced little competition, though two major local films are set to debut this coming weekend. Hollywood films typically hold only a 10-15% share of the Indian market, where local productions dominate. India’s first half of 2026 box office revenues reached $661.66M, the highest since the pandemic, up 10% from the same period in 2025.
