Speeding driver killed N.J. grandmother, gets prison

A New Jersey man has been sentenced to four years in prison for a crash that resulted in the death of a grandmother. He will serve nearly three years and five months before being eligible for parole. Alexander F. Eiden, 25, was driving 103 mph in a 50 mph zone when he struck Christine Perrella's vehicle on January 9, 2023. Perrella, 70, died from her injuries. Eiden pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter. The crash occurred in Roseland, New Jersey. Perrella was a paralegal and is survived by family. Eiden will also be under parole supervision for three years after his release.
