Spanish royals host Balearic society at Marivent Palace
The Spanish Royal Family hosted their annual summer reception in Mallorca on Tuesday evening, welcoming representatives of Balearic society at the Marivent Palace. The event consolidated the presence of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, who debuted there last August. King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were accompanied throughout by their daughters and Queen Emerita Sofía. The reception, attended by around 600 guests, featured a traditional handshake line lasting about 20 minutes, followed by a cocktail on the palace grounds. The event took place at the palace's lateral facade, which has hosted the reception for five years, replacing the Almudaina Palace. Former King Juan Carlos I was absent, having briefly visited the residence two weekends ago after seven years away.
