Southwest Airlines celebrates 19 years of growth at Denver International Airport
Southwest Airlines has marked its 19th year operating at Denver International Airport, where it is now the second-largest carrier. The airline has expanded significantly, offering 302 daily departures to 92 destinations, with 13,894 scheduled flights in January 2025. Since re-entering the Denver market in 2006, Southwest has grown its flight operations from 13 daily flights to nearly 200,000 in 2023. The airline has invested in Denver, including a new $100 million maintenance hangar, enhancing its presence in the city. Despite its growth, Southwest still trails United Airlines, which operates nearly double the flights and seats in Denver. However, Southwest's expansion continues to solidify its role in the Mile High City.
