Southern Command chief highlights modernization progress and professionalism at Pune ceremony
Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, head of Southern Command, announced significant advancements in the Army's modernization efforts during an investiture ceremony in Pune. He highlighted the integration of technology into military strategies to address current challenges. At the ceremony, 34 individuals received honors, including eight Sena Medals for gallantry and nine for distinguished service. Lt Gen Seth recognized units for their exceptional contributions, particularly in disaster relief during recent floods and landslides. Southern Command manages a large area with a 1,200-kilometre international border and a 7,000-kilometre coastline. Lt Gen Seth noted the Command's collaboration with the Indian Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard to ensure security.
