Southern California faces flooding and mudslides as storm impacts region

Southern California experienced severe flooding and mudslides this week due to a powerful storm. Evacuation warnings were issued for areas affected by recent wildfires, leading to mud-covered roads, school closures, and downed power lines. Power outages decreased significantly, with only 2,760 homes and businesses without electricity by Saturday, down from over 21,000 the previous day. Los Angeles had the highest number of outages, affecting more than 12,600 customers. Authorities are clearing roads and advising residents to stay away from areas with mudflows and high water until it is safe.
