South Korea's KASA releases lunar images after SpaceX rocket stage impact

bbc.com (Russian)

South Korea's space agency KASA published images of the Moon taken after a SpaceX rocket stage crashed into its surface on Wednesday. KASA said its lunar orbiter Danuri captured images before and after the impact. The roughly four-ton Falcon 9 second stage struck the Moon at about 8,700 km/h around 6:35 GMT Wednesday. If the accident posed no threat to Earth, astronomers used it to highlight the growing problem of space debris, noting that overcrowded orbits may soon hinder spaceflight.
