South Korea's Danuri captures before-and-after images of SpaceX rocket crash on Moon

South Korea's Danuri orbiter captured before-and-after images of a SpaceX rocket stage crashing into the Moon, revealing a fresh crater and darkened terrain. The images, released Thursday, were taken from lunar orbit over multiple passes. The impact carved out a crater and ejected dust and rock. NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter will fly over the site next week. The upper stage, launched by SpaceX in 2022 carrying Danuri, hit at 5,400 mph. Its collision course was accidental, caused by solar activity and gravity.
