A satellite has photographed the impact site of a SpaceX rocket stage on the Moon, revealing a newly formed crater and scattered debris. The images confirm the collision's visible aftermath. The object was a Falcon 9 upper stage that carried two private lunar landers 18 months ago, strayed off course, and struck the Moon on Wednesday.
